Report: ‘Abbott Elementary’ Cast Doubled, Tripled Salaries for Season 4

ABC’s hit comedy “Abbott Elementary” has rewarded its talented cast with significant pay raises ahead of season 4, according to Deadline. The series, which won the 2022 SAG Award for Best Comedy Series Ensemble, has seen its original cast members — Quinta Brunson, Tyler James Williams, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Janelle James, Lisa Ann Walter, and Chris Perfetti — negotiate substantial pay increases with Warner Bros. Television.

More Money, More Money

The outlet claimed it was told by sources it did not name that the show’s creator and star Brunson will see her salary bumped up to between $350,000 and $400,000 per episode in Season 4. The Emmy and Golden Globe-winning actress, who is under an overall deal with Warner Bros., will continue to lead the hit comedy as teacher Janine Teagues.

The salary increases for the “Abbott Elementary” cast are substantial.

Co-stars Sheryl Lee Ralph and Tyler James Williams will each earn $250,000 per episode, while Janelle James, Lisa Ann Walter, and Chris Perfetti will make $200,000 per episode, Deadline claimed.

“Abbott Elementary” is a workplace comedy that follows dedicated teachers and a clueless principal at a Philadelphia public school, highlighting the challenges and commitment of educators.

The series has won four Primetime Emmy Awards and received 214 nominations, underscoring its critical acclaim. It holds a strong IMDb rating of 8.2/10 and has set new streaming viewership records, according to TV Series Finale.

In its second season, the show averaged a 0.56 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 2.76 million viewers, as reported by The Wrap.

Its popularity and authentic portrayal of the education system have led to its renewal for a fourth season, premiering on October 9 at 9:30 p.m. on ABC, with episodes available for streaming the following day on Hulu.
