I almost lost my son the devil hernias when he was born after bring him home he ate a lot and cried took him to the local doctor and he said he's fine my mother-in-law said you know he's all right but I knew that the mother he was not all right I was young but I knew so I took him to St Louis hospital hours away they did immediate surgery my son would have died within days had he not got that surgery hernia surgeries aren't just outward they're inward which blocks the bowels everything and can poison their own system and kill them parent that ignored a doctor telling them might as well have just killed them their selves so yes they should have been charged

My 2nd child had an umbilical hernia, and I did take her to be checked out with a specialist cuz I was worried, but I wouldn’t really say it is something life threatening unless it is severe. My uncle had a hernia for over 25 years before it caused issues. That being said, I still think it needs to be checked out by a specialist before you can say “oh they’re fine” in most cases with small children the umbilical hernia well go away on its own, but sometimes surgery is the best option. I can never understand how someone refuses to check on those kinds of things when it’s their children. I’ve had times with lapse in my insurance or finances being tight but if my kids needed something checked out I still took them to the doctor.
