Even if they have bordetella they can still get kennel cough. So it doesn’t guarantee they won’t get sick. I always take my dogs to Kennelwood where they have staff on 24/7 and can have their own private rooms. It also helps to have a person locally they can consult. I always used my vet tech to watch my dogs and stay in my home while gone. That way if one got sick she could just take her in to her work

ummm...state law/kennel rules that all dogs boarded have bordetella vaccine(kennel cough) prior. Work at local kennel and see folks constantly trying to avoid or want to innoculate the day of dropoff. I'm not sure of details in this case....but there's a strain of kennel cough that hit Pacific NW that was often fatal in innoculated dogs earlier this year
