Raritan Township Community Day Returning in September

RARITAN TWP, NJ - Raritan Township has announced the 6th Annual Community Day & Car Show, returning to Lenape Park Sept. 22.

The event will be held from noon to 4 p.m., and admission and parking are free.

All non-profits serving the township and Flemington Borough are welcome to participate as booth exhibitors or entertainment, including sports teams, clubs, philanthropic organizations, school-related groups, township departments, recreational groups and first responders.

In addition, according to a release, entertainment is welcome, including cheerleader exhibitions, school bands, musicians, dancers, club demonstrations and more.

The township is also seeking food trucks, food vendors and non-profits wanting to sell food. There is no cost to participate.

Last year's community day had an estimated 3,000 people in attendance, and this year is expected to be bigger. There will also be a petting zoo, an expanded car show, face painting, sand art and contests including a Cornhole Tournament and a hula hoop contest.

There will also be a DJ and demonstrations from the fire company, rescue squad and police department.

Volunteers are also being sought for the event.
