EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – The Frostburg State Field Hockey team dropped their road contest to No. 3 East Stroudsburg by a final score of 5-1 on Thursday afternoon. ESU quickly took control on offense to start the game, seeing their first shot just over a minute in. Junior goalkeeper Zoe Barnes was able to stand in the way, racking up her first save of the afternoon. East Stroudsburg was able to pick up a penalty corner moments later, helping them set up for their first score of the game and an early 1-0 advantage two minutes into the first quarter. The Warriors continued to dominate possession and attempts at goal, receiving three more penalty corners and firing another shot that was blocked. Off the third penalty corner, ESU was able to find the back of the cage again, slicing it home for a 2-0 lead around the 10 minute mark. The first quarter was all East Stroudsburg, as the Warriors stranded together two more shots, one being saved by Barnes and one finding its way in, guiding ESU to a 3-0 lead after the first 15.
