MTA bus crashes into Burger King in Brooklyn after driver suffers medical episode
An MTA bus crashed into a Burger King in Brooklyn after its driver suffered a medical episode while on duty early Thursday morning.Surveillance video shows the crash that happened around 12:10 a.m. at the intersection of Fort Hamilton Parkway and Dahill Road.Police say the 60-year-old driver lost control of the B16 bus, which swerved across the median and smashed into the side of the Burger King.Officials with the MTA said it appears the driver had a cardiac episode. He was taken to Maimonides Medical Center in critical condition.Two women, ages 60 and 23, were on the bus at the time....

Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds‘ highly anticipated 18th album Wild God comes out on August 30, and ahead of that he’ll preview it at an intimate Brooklyn event. It happens at National Sawdust on August 15, and it’s part of the GRAMMY Museum’s “A New York Evening With…” series. Nick will appear in conversation following a playback of the new album, and he’ll also give a “brief performance.” Tickets go on sale Thursday, July 25 at 1:30 PM ET.
Tu Madre Reopens At New Melrose Location
Tu Madre Mexican eatery has reopened at 660 N. Larchmont, the former site of Art Works Studio, located at the southeast corner of Larchmont and Melrose. The new space features a large dine-in area with lots of windows and a large U-shaped bar. There is also outdoor seating. Guests can dig into a wide range of beverages, Tu Madre is fully licensed to serve alcohol. The previous location at 203 N. Larchmont was limited to take-out service only and closed in December 2022.
