Sets 2024 Return at Radio City Music Hall
The annual Christmas Spectacular Starring the Radio City Rockettes will return to the Great Stage at Radio City Music Hall November 8, 2024–January 5, 2025. The famed holiday engagement spotlights the Radio City Rockettes and features nine extravagant numbers throughout a 90-minute production. The 2024 Christmas Spectacular will again feature the “Dance of the Frost Fairies,” which was reimagined in 2022 and features the Rockettes as fantastical winged fairies, performing alongside fairy-drones that dance high above the audience. Audiences can also expect such classic numbers as "Parade of the Wooden Soldiers."
NJ Transit will spend $178M on new trains. Commuters say they need fixes now.
Wednesday was shopping day for NJ Transit — and the airing of grievances for rail commuters who also came armed with some solutions to make their rides better. Some long-term relief for riders will be coming down the track as the commuter agency’s board of directors approved spending $178 million to buy 36 new Multilevel III rail cars. They are intended to replace some of the agency’s problematic single-level cars, that are over 40-years-old, for use during rush hour transportation to Penn Station New York.

The Daniel’s Law Task Force met virtually Wednesday as New York continues to explore reducing police involvement in mental health-related calls. The program stems from proposed legislation known as Daniel's Law, named for Daniel Prude, who died in 2020 of asphyxiation while in Rochester police custody during a mental health incident.

SUNY Oneonta to help develop fire-safe battery technology
ALBANY, NY (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) — Governor Kathy Hochul announced on Wednesday, July 24 that a local college will be helping develop new innovations in battery technology. SUNY Oneonta will be one of two places in New York State to receive funding from the United States Department of Energy (DOE) for a long-duration energy storage project using fire-safe battery technology. According to the governor’s office, the technology will be able to be used in urban and rural places and demonstrate a stable energy supply during periods of high demand and extreme weather conditions.

MTA bus crashes into Burger King in Brooklyn after driver suffers medical episode
An MTA bus crashed into a Burger King in Brooklyn after its driver suffered a medical episode while on duty early Thursday morning.Surveillance video shows the crash that happened around 12:10 a.m. at the intersection of Fort Hamilton Parkway and Dahill Road.Police say the 60-year-old driver lost control of the B16 bus, which swerved across the median and smashed into the side of the Burger King.Officials with the MTA said it appears the driver had a cardiac episode. He was taken to Maimonides Medical Center in critical condition.Two women, ages 60 and 23, were on the bus at the time....
