As part of Florence’s Home Tour, the Florence Woman's Club will be hosting its annual art show in its historic clubhouse.

The event takes place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 10 at the Florence Woman’s Club, 231 N. Willow St.

There is no charge for the curated show, which will feature local artists' work that will be available for purchase. The show is a fundraiser for the Florence Woman's Club.

The Florence Woman’s Club is a stop on the 38 th Annual Home Tour taking place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Feb. 10, starting at Jaques Square, 190 N. Main St. The square will also double as the Home Tour’s headquarters for the day.

According to the town, the Florence Woman’s Club building was designed by the same architects who designed Florence Union High School.

Arizona State Prison inmates completed  construction of the building in 1929 at a cost of $9,420, the town states on its website.  The building functioned as a USO club during World War II. The Florence Woman’s Club was organized in 1897 and is the second oldest women’s club in Arizona.

The theme of this year’s Home Tour is “Heritage Trail,” as it not only includes private residences but also historic buildings including the Brunenkant City Bakery built in 1889, the E. N. Fish & Company Store built in 1868 and the Chapel of the Gila built in 1870.

Local artists interested in being part of the Florence Woman’s Club art show are asked to call 619-818-3928.
