Lots of winners at Florence's Road to Country Thunder

Country music lovers weren’t the only winners at this year’s Road to Country Thunder concert in Florence.

The April 6 event drew thousands of people to Historic Main Street, where the town and the producers of Country Thunder Arizona joined forces to put on the special, free one-day show as a way to say thanks to the Florene residents who deal with the huge Country Thunder festival every year.

Once again, Country Thunder Arizona donated two-platinum VIP tickets to the Florence Rotary Club so it could raffle them off to raise money for Florence Unified School District senior scholarships.

Keith Eaton, president elect of the Florence Rotary Club, stated on a Facebook reel that the drawing was held April 4 and 100% of the proceeds went to the scholarship program.

This year’s Country Thunder winner was Trevor Babino from Superior.

“I’ve never won anything like this in my life, so I can’t wait to go,” Babino stated in the reel.
