Florence library kicks off summer reading program

Summer is here which means Florence’s summer reading program is back.

The program will kick off with a special event from 10 a.m. to noon, Friday, May 31 at the Viney Jones Library and Community Center, 778 N. Main St.

During the event, residents can register for the program and pick up a summer-reading bag filled with goodies. The program runs from June 1 to July 12.

Florence’s summer-reading program is  part of the Arizona Reading Program sponsored by the Arizona State Library, Archives and Public Records.

“The Arizona Summer Reading Program encourages readers of all ages to visit their local library and enjoy a summer full of exciting reading adventures,” a post on the town’s Facebook page stated.
