As a pilot program extending the hours for the Viney Jones Library & Community Center draws to an end, Florence is asking residents for feedback on whether the new hours should become permanent.

On April 1, the library began offering evening hours from 6 to 8 p.m., Mondays and Thursdays for a three-month trial program. The library is normally closed on Mondays and closes at 6 p.m. on Thursdays.

The library now has a survey to get residents’ thoughts about the extended hours. The survey is at https://polco.us/sufxp4 and closes on Tuesday, June 25, according to the town’s Facebook page.

“This initiative reflects the town’s commitment to evaluating new solutions to meet our community’s needs,” stated a March 26 press release announcing the pilot program. “We recognize the importance of listening to our residents, gathering community feedback, and using that information to continually improve our recreational programs and services.”
