Florence schools are back in session

Classes started Wednesday for students in the Florence Unified School District.

FUSD serves nearly 10,000 students in 12 schools located in Florence, Queen Creek and San Tan Valley. On this first day, all students will be released early.

Students will be spending their short week taking part in numerous activities at various schools. For example, Florence High School students will have orientation meetings on Thursday and Friday. The Gophers will also hold a scrimmage baseball game with Eloy on Wednesday and the volleyball team will be at the the Central Arizona College campus in Coolidge for a tournament on Saturday.

At Poston Butte High School, Thursday brings band practice. Meanwhile, students at San Tan Heights K-8 will get to enjoy PTO Snack Day on Friday.
