Florence chamber looking for new director

The Greater Florence Chamber of Commerce is looking for a new executive director.

The chamber’s board announced that Roger Biede has resigned as executive director effective July 9. No reason for the resignation has been given.

“The board is starting the search for a new director. Please know the board’s highest priority in hiring a director is focusing on the needs of local chamber members, including concrete steps to promote the business community in Florence,” a release from the chamber stated.

Over the next six months as the transition period takes place, the board stated that it will be sending out surveys to understand the needs of chamber members, hold quarterly membership meetings and monthly mixers, and provide “timely and accurate information on social media, emails and newsletters to keep businesses up to date in our fast-paced business/community development.”

“The Greater Florence Chamber of Commerce Board asks for your active participation as we refocus on the chamber’s mission,” the release stated,” the release stated. “Together, we will build a solid foundation in the next six months that will set the stage for a dynamic and active chamber community in Florence.”
