When celebrity cook and television personality Rachael Ray starred in Food Network's ''$40 a Day'' she got to visit many wonderful places all over the country. Rachael particularly loved Mystic, a village located in Groton and Stonington, Connecticut. Mystic is a lovely New England town with a quaint nautical theme that is rich in maritime history.

While she enjoyed sight seeing around Mystic Seaport, she took full advantage of the old-style pricing of local refreshments, such as steamed popcorn and a cool 5 cent ale. Rachael Ray went full steam ahead through this lovely maritime town while keeping to her designated $40 a day budget.

Her first restaurant romp was at ''Kitchen Little'' located at 36 Quarry Road in Mystic, Connecticut. ''At this "fisherman's dream" seaside restaurant, choose from over 45 menu options for breakfast and lunch. Rachael started her day with the hearty Portuguese Fisherman's Omelette, a spicy combination of chorizo, peppers, onions and tomatoes, and said "the food doesn't get much better than this," as stated on the Food Network website.

Rachael Ray also made a stop at another favorite of the locals, ''Noah's Restaurant,'' located at 113 Water Stree in Stonington, Connecticut. ''Tuck into breakfast, lunch and dinner dishes from around the world at this cozy diner, Rachael called the crispy stuffed flounder "light" and "fresh," and the restaurant atmosphere "relaxed and fun," according to Food Network.

Her last visit on her magical Mystic tour was ''Sea Swirl,'' located at 30 Williams Avenue in Mystic, Connecticut. At this stop, Rachael ordered the hand-dipped crispy cod with the freshly-made house tartar sauce. Food Network describes it as 'Housed in a revamped 1950s' ice cream stand, this charming roadside spot now turns out "flawlessly fried seafood," Rhode Island-style clam chowder and lobster rolls.''
