Litchfield County has some of the best restaurants in Connecticut! Here are seven of Litchfield Magazine's 'Best in Litchfield' that I highlighted from their list. Whether it be a scenic outdoor lunch, the local go-to coffee stop, a sweet treat ice cream shoppe, the freshest New England seafood or your family's favorite take-out, there is something for everyone in the Litchfield Hills. First up, is Arethusa a Mano Bakery & Café, located on 833 Bantam Road in Bantam. ''From bagels, cinnamon rolls, a variety of doughnuts, seasonal muffins, brioche rolls, chocolate and almond croissants—a wide selection of baked goods are offered at the stylish small town café.'

Another must-stop from the list is Thai Charm, located at 218 Kent Road in New Milford. ''Thai Charm offers traditional Thai dishes. From appetizers, soups and salads, to Thai curries, Vegetable dishes, Fried Rice, and Noodles. Takeout is also available.'' A popular stop for anyone with a sweet tooth is Popey’s Ice Cream, located on 7 West Street in Morris. ''A best kept secret among the locals, complete with swinging picnic tables outside and a no-frills interior café-style dinning space. It is a wonderful place to enjoy simple food (yummy ice cream as well as hamburgers, hot dogs, fries and onion rings), in a casual setting.''

Next on the must-stop tour is Oliva on Main located at 15 Main Street South in Bethlehem. ''For 31 years, Oliva on Main has celebrated Mediterranean and Northern Italian food. They use fresh, local, and seasonal ingredients.'' Next on the list is The Woodland, located at 192 Sharon Road in Lakeville. ''Reservations are a must if you want to experience the excellent food at one of the area’s most popular, well-reputed restaurants, The Woodland. The menu is extensive and varied (for a thrill, try the sushi). Fun bar scene. Impeccable service.''

Next on the list is new to the Litchfield area and it's Espresso 59, located at 59 West Street in Litchfield. ''A recent Litchfield addition with coffee and espresso, gelato/sorbetto, and baked goods, and a killer chicken pot pie.'' Last, we have one of my favorites and that is Tilden Seafood and Prime Meat Market. Located at 174 West Street in Litchfield. ''The clambake bags are fun and include everything you need tied up in a bag for boiling a traditional New England-style clambake.''
