Miranda Lambert Honored With Country Icon Award at 2024 People's Choice Country Awards

The stars were out and shining last night! Country-pop legend Shania Twain hosted the second annual ''People's Choice Country Music Awards'' on which aired on Thursday, September 26, 2024 on NBC. The star-studded event was aired live from the iconic Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville.

The biggest stars of country music attended the annual music event. One star inparticular took home a very special award and fans were thrilled. Miranda Lambert was honored with the 'Country Icon Award' at the ''2024 People's Choice Country Awards''. Full of emotion, gratitude and humor, Miranda accepted the honor.

"It's so weird for me to stand up here and hold an icon award. I mean, to me, an icon is who I grew up listening to. My daddy would play Jerry Jeff Walker, Merle Haggard, Guy Clark, John Prine. Those are my icons," Lambert said onstage as she accepted the honor. "So the fact that I get this award tonight is just blowing my mind." She added, "It's a lot of years, tears, beers and Tito's," as reported by People.

Miranda Lambert is a Texas native who is known by millions of country music fans as an award winning singer, songwriter and guitarist. She rose to fame in 2001, when she released her debut album independently, titled ''Miranda Lambert''. Two years later, she landed in third place on the televised singing competition series ''Nashville Star''.
