Actress Kelly Monaco Addresses Her Exit From General Hospital After 21 Years

Kelly Monaco is still bewildered over her firing! The actress who starred in the daytime drama series ‘General Hospital’ was fired after 21 Years on the show. Kelly Monaco's Sam McCall was one of the show's most popular characters. The actress was nominated for two Daytime Emmy Awards for her work on the ABC series. The actress addressed her last day of filming on the GH set by sharing a post with all her fans on social media.

Kelly Monaco posted a photo and message on her official Instagram account, “Last scene with the Davis girls. 😘🥲🙏🏻 still doesn’t make any sense to me.'' The photo was of herself, alongside her GH castmates; Nancy Lee Grahn, who plays her mother Alexis Davis, as well as Kristen Vaganos and Kate Mansi, the actresses who play her sisters on the show. This post has since been taken down.

Kelly's mom, Carmine wrote a message of gratitude to her daughter's fans on X “I want to take this moment to reach out to Kelly’s incredible fans and express my deepest gratitude for the unwavering love, loyalty, and support you’ve shown her throughout her time on General Hospital. On this final day, just four days shy of the anniversary of her first episode on October 1, 2003, Kelly will close the door of her dressing room for the last time. This moment is a difficult one, but knowing that she has had such an incredible, devoted fan base has given her strength.” as stated on Deadline.

The heartbreaking news of Kelly Monaco’s departure came in late August, 2024. She joined the top-rated show in 2003. Kelly also portrayed Livvie Locke on the show's spinoff 'Port Charles', from 1999 to 2003. In 2005, Kelly Monaco also won the first season of the ABC dance competition series 'Dancing with the Stars' with her dance partner, Alec Mazo. She has appeared on the series three times in 2005, 2012, and 2017.
