Heavy downpours try and help severe drought conditions
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — Some much-needed rain across beaches has dropped temperatures to the mid-80s. It will be hot and humid today inland in the low to mid-90s. The rain will most hug the beaches today along a stalled front. Severe drought in now in place for 16% of the area covered by the National Weather Service Wilmington including most of Florence and Marion counties and portions of Horry County. Severe drought has not occurred in this area in 12 years.
