Kindergarten teachers are invited to a workshop in Jefferson City to learn all about a new curriculum that focuses on Missouri’s black bears. The Department of Conservation has developed a new curriculum entitled, Kindergarten: Bears Through the Seasons. Media Specialist Maddie Fennewald says the curriculum covers four components of science, including Earth and Space Science, Physical Science, Life Science, and Engineering and Technology Science. UCM and State Fair Community College Support Seamless Transfer for 4-Year Degrees in Theatre
The University of Central Missouri (UCM) and State Fair Community College (SFCC) are acting together to offer students a seamless path to earning a Theatre degree. UCM and SFCC announced new articulation agreements that will allow students enrolled in SFCC’s Associate of Fine Art (AFA) in Theatre programs to seamlessly transfer to UCM’s Bachelor of Fine Art (BFA) and Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Theatre programs.

Bootheel man accused of Columbia shooting with injuries is scheduled for October trial
One of three people arrested for their part in a shooting in downtown Columbia is scheduled for trial. Kalvin Johnson, 20, of Sikeston, was scheduled Monday for a jury trial to begin October 1.
