FLORENCE, S.C. (WBTW) — Downtown Florence is getting a unique Bojangles and it’s the first-of-its-kind in the area.

The new addition is a concept restaurant and will be located between King Jefe and S/W Printing Company on S. Irby Street. Downtown Main Street officials said they have been getting a lot of interest in the new business since the owners installed their “coming soon” signs on Monday.

Locals are very hopeful about the progress being made to expand the downtown food scene. Tajuana Harris works in the downtown area and thinks it’s a great idea.

“I’m excited about it because its going to be a quick in-and-out, especially for all of the businesses downtown as well as the Francis Marion students, Harris said.” “It will just be something different.

The downtown Florence area is expected to add more new businesses as a part of its more than $100 million development plan. Officials said the revitalization will continue over the next five years.

    Lyesha Mack currently works downtown.

“There is some variety currently, but having a Bojangles would be so much more convenient for me, a lot of my coworkers, and some of the businesses and residents that live in this area,” she said.

Mack said she’s looking forward to grabbing a quick meal during lunch. It’s unclear when the restaurant will officially open.
