Man found dead at Florence apartment complex after shooting

FLORENCE, S.C. (WBTW) — A man was found dead in the parking lot of Colonial Gardens Apartments in Florence on Sunday, laying on the ground near a running vehicle, police said.

It happened around 1 a.m. Officers from the Florence Police Department along with sheriff’s deputies arrived on scene “within minutes” and found the person near a vehicle who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.

Officials said he was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident remains under investigation.
