Troopers Say Man Tried To Kidnap 12-Year-Old In Smyrna
Delaware State Police are investigating an attempted kidnapping of a child that occurred last night in Smyrna. Officials said on Saturday evening, at approximately 8:41 p.m., troopers responded to Spruce Court in Holly Hills Estates in Smyrna for a suspicious person. When troopers arrived, they learned that an unknown white male suspect approached a 12-year-old and began to ask the child questions. While the suspect was asking questions, he grabbed the child by the arm. The child was able to get away and call for help. Troopers and detectives searched the area for the suspect but were unable to locate him. The child was not hurt during the incident.

Family displaced after early Sunday morning house fire
An early Sunday morning fire in Towamencin Township has displaced a family, who has made temporary housing arrangements in the area. Fire officials said a call came into 911 from a resident of the home at 2:33 a.m. for a house fire at 680 Weikel Road, located a block from Allentown Road and across from Wood's Edge Townhomes.

Ventnor responds to unconfirmed report of a shark bite
VENTNOR – The Ventnor Beach Patrol responded to the report of a potential shark bite Sunday morning at approximately 9:30 a.m. before lifeguards went on duty. According to Ventnor Beach Patrol Chief Stan Bergman, someone ran up to Beach Patrol Headquarters on Suffolk Avenue as lifeguards were preparing to open the beach saying someone had been bitten by a shark.
Child suffers serious injuries after head-on crash in Berlin Twp., 3 others hospitalized
The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a crash in Berlin Township Saturday evening. The crash happened on Route 224 just east of Bedell Road around 2:30 p.m. According to the release, a 17-year-old female was driving east on Route 224 in a Chrysler van when she tried to pass a vehicle ahead of her. While trying to pass, she struck a motorhome and then an SUV head-on.
