HANNIBAL, Mo. — A New London woman charged in a stabbing incident is in the Marion County Jail. The 10th Judicial District Court of Marion County issued a warrant on Monday, Aug. 26, for Olivia A. Malone, 18 of New London, charging her with first-degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon and armed criminal action.

The West Nile virus recently was detected in mosquito populations in High Ridge, Fenton and De Soto, according to the Jefferson County Health Department. Specimens from High Ridge and Fenton mosquito populations tested on Aug. 22 detected the virus, the Health Department reported. The department’s Vector Division began implementing control measures in those areas on Aug. 22.
