    Debby Prompts Evacuation Notices On Florida Gulf Coast

    TAMPA -- Tropical Storm Debby is leading authorities in several Gulf Coast counties to issue evacuations, ahead of possible storm surge. Here's a partial list, to be updated as needed Sunday.

    Dixie County is evacuating all coastal areas -- shelter is set up at Cross City High School and a special needs shelter at Bell Middle and High School

    Taylor County is under a curfew tonight and tomorrow night from 9 pm to 7 am.

    Jefferson County has a voluntary evacuation for Mobile Homes and low lying areas. A shelter opens at 10 am Sunday at the Jefferson County K-12 school

    in Monticello

    Franklin County is evacuating Alligator Point, Dog Island, St. George Island, and low lying areas Starting Sunday August 4, 2024 at 6 AM.

    Levy County has ordered evacuations of RVs, mobile homes and low-lying areas including Cedar Key. Shelters are at Bronson Elementary and Bronson Middle-High School in Bronson.

    Voluntary evacuations of mobile homes and low areas: Manatee, Pasco, Hernando counties

    Mandatory: Citrus County Zone A (Crystal River and areas west of US 19)

    The following shelters are open in Citrus:

    Lecanto Primary School (3790 W Educational Path, Lecanto)

    Forest Ridge Elementary School (2927 N Forest Ridge Blvd, Hernando)
