‘Don’t Know Where to Begin!’ Stephanopoulos Reacts to Stunning Interview With Byron Donalds and Throws to Chris Christie — Who Promptly Trashes GOP Rep.

Chris Christie attacked the Republican Party and ABC anchor George Stephanopoulos appeared to be suffering from a momentary interview hangover following his stunning fracas with Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL) on Sunday morning.

Christie ripped both Donalds and former President Donald Trump while Stephanopoulos suggested he needed a moment to catch his breath following a heated interview with the Florida Republican about questioning Vice President Kamala Harris’s ethnicity and other topics.

After Stephanopoulos cut Donalds off during a discussion about Trump potentially pardoning Jan. 6 rioters, he welcomed Christie and Donna Brazile .

“We’re joined now by our political analysts Donna Brazile and Chris Christie,” Stephanopoulos said immediately after he and Donalds sparred about whether questioning Harris’s Blackness equated to a “slur” and whether Trump is serious about pardoning people in prison for storming the U.S. Capitol.

The host said, “Thank you all for coming in. I almost don’t know where to begin after – after all of that.”

Turning to Christie, he said, “First of all, Chris, let’s talk about where we just left off on the pardoning of [some of the Jan. 6 rioters who] assaulted police officers.”

Christie replied, “Well, he’s made this really clear, George, over time, and he’s – in fact, Donald Trump has, you know, has them singing before his rallies, singing the national anthem. He calls them hostages, et cetera. I don’t think there’s really any question that the only person who’s inconsistent this morning is Byron Donalds.”

Brazile also took a swipe at Trump questioning whether Harris became Black in recent years after previously embracing her Indian heritage.

“This is an old playbook,” she said. “America’s tired of this playbook. We’re tired of questioning people’s background simply because they don’t look like something or someone else. Donald Trump wants to be the arbiter of who is an American, and he’s not.”
