    Brevard high school football roundup: MCC, Melbourne, Astronaut earn wins in Week 7

    Melbourne, Astronaut and Melbourne Central Catholic earned wins to close out Week 7 of the season. The Hustlers finished with their third shutout win in a row.

    Melbourne 27, Bayside 13

    Melbourne quarterback Michael Rogers finished with two passing touchdowns and two rushing touchdowns to push the Bulldogs to a road win over Bayside.

    In the first quarter, Rogers found Ty Field for a 32-yard touchdown pass to put Melbourne in front. The Bears scored six points in the quarter after Bayside quarterback Kaiden Brabham ran three yards for a touchdown.

    The Bulldogs scored one touchdown in both the second and third quarters. Rogers scored on a 3-yard run in the second and Kymarion Johnson caught an 11-yard pass from Rogers in the third quarter.

    Bayside got within a touchdown of Melbourne in the fourth quarter when Brabham scored on a 10-yard run. Rogers sealed the Bulldogs' win by scoring his second rushing touchdown of the night with 2:37 left to play in the game.

    The Bears (3-5) go to Cocoa Beach for their next game, while Melbourne (4-3) is on the road at Longwood Lyman.

    Miami Norland 33, Cocoa 14

    Miami Norland defeated Cocoa in a Week 7 game Friday night. The Tigers scored first after Brady Hart threw a 10-yard touchdown pass to Jayvan Boggs in the first quarter. Latrison Lane also scored for the Tigers on a 20-yard run in the fourth quarter.

    Ennio Yapoor finished with three touchdowns for Miami Norland in the win.

    Cocoa (3-3) goes on the road for a Thursday night game at Apopka next week.

    MCC 49, Halifax Academy 0

    The Hustlers picked up their third straight win after defeating Halifax Academy. MCC quarterback Brogan McNab finished with four passing touchdowns and ran for one more score.

    To open up the game, McNab scored his first touchdown on a 60-yard run. Noah Flores and Ramel Hernandez both caught touchdowns passes from McNab in the quarter.

    In the second quarter, McNab connected with Flores on a 71-yard touchdown pass. Almost three minutes later, Howard DeWitt caught a 22-yard pass from McNab and Caden Kelley closed out MCC's high-scoring first half with a 3-yard touchdown run.

    MCC got one last touchdown after Vance Sanger recovered a fumble in the end zone. MCC's defense has not allowed a point to be scored by its opponent since Sept. 13.

    For Week 8, The Hustlers (5-1) will travel to Miami to play True North Classical Academy.

    Winter Springs 16, Space Coast 0

    Space Coast fell to Winter Springs in a game Friday night. The Vipers (5-3) are off next week, and they will play Oxbridge Academy at home on Oct. 18.

    Mandarin 24, Rockledge 7

    Rockledge lost to Mandarin on the road Friday night. Shaunqueze Foster pushed the Mustangs in front with a third-quarter rushing score. Foster and Deion Winstead rushed for late touchdowns to complete the rally for Mandarin.

    Astronaut 35, Sebastian River 21

    The War Eagles won on the road to claim wins in back-to-back weeks.

    Makih Simmons scored on an 83-yard run with a minute left in the game to close out the War Eagles' win. Astronaut (5-2) will host Villages Charter next Friday.

    Seminole 33, Titusville 10

    Titusville dropped its Week 7 game on the road at Sanford. Khamani Robinson scored two rushing touchdowns for Seminole in the win.

    The Terriers (2-4) are playing at Satellite for a district game next Friday.

    Master's Academy 49, Cocoa Beach 0

    In Oviedo, Master's Academy defeated Cocoa Beach. For Master's Academy, Jackson Stetcher threw one touchdown pass and scored one rushing touchdown.

    The Minutemen (2-4) will play Bayside at home next Friday.

    Spruce Creek 62, Viera 27

    Viera lost its Friday night game to Spruce Creek. The Viera High Hawks (3-3) welcome Kissimmee Osceola next for a Week 8 game.

    Martin County 20, Palm Bay 7

    The Palm Bay Pirates lost their Week 7 game on the road. The Pirates (0-6) have a bye next week. For Week 9, Palm Bay plays at Eau Gallie.

    Merritt Island Christian 50, Countryside Christian 16

    The undefeated Cougars won their seventh game of the season. Nathanael Buccio ran in three touchdowns and his teammate Caleb Richeson scored two rushing touchdowns in the win.
