Refik Anadol, globally renowned AI media artist, director, and trailblazer in machine intelligence, opened the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland recently on Jan. 16, with his spellbinding presentation. On March 4, Anadol will take the stage at the Imagine Solutions Conference (ISC), right here in Southwest Florida.

Refik Anadol is known around the world for his installations blending art and technology — covering the facades of skyscrapers, featured at Christie’s auction house, a one-man show at MOMA, and at the Grammy Awards.

The visual presentation shown for the first time at Davos was titled Living Archive: Nature (2024), created as an open-source collaboration and is an early experimental output based on the Large Nature Model, the world’s first-ever open-source generative AI model exclusively dedicated to nature. The model uses data from National Geographic and the Smithsonian Institute to create stunning nature scenes. It took his studio — comprised of workers from 10 countries and speaking at least 15 languages — less than a year to complete. The Anadol Studio wants this to be free to the public in the future for individuals to create their own personal experience.

Anadol, 39, has always blended science and technology, but now he is literally working with scientists to make art. Visuals generated by the model can range from jaw-dropping realism to fantastical landscapes that would make Hollywood jealous. This breakthrough experience combines visual with sounds and smells to create a very personal experience with nature.

Refik Anadol Studio comprises designers, architects, data scientists, and researchers from diverse professional and personal backgrounds, embracing principles of inclusion and equity throughout every stage of production.

A pioneer in his field, and the first to use artificial intelligence in a public artwork, Anadol has partnered with teams at Google, Microsoft, NVIDIA, NASA/ JPL, Intel, IBM, Siemens, Epson, MIT, UCLA, Harvard University, Imperial College, Stanford University, and UCSF, to apply the latest, cutting-edge science, research, and technologies to his work.

Imagine Solutions Conference: Unlike Any Other

Recently his team also collaborated with the perfume maker Firmenich in Geneva to create 12 different scents to accompany the work. The smells adapt to what is shown on the screen and reach the nose of the viewer through a device worn around the neck. For example, one might experience the smells of the forest before and after a rain begins.

Anadol is just one of 18 amazing speakers taking the stage at the Imagine Solutions Conference being held March 4, 2024.

Don’t miss this opportunity to be the first to hear about lifesaving breakthrough technologies, meet extraordinary experts and be awe-inspired, all in one day. ¦
