    BSU board elects its 2024-25 officers

    The Bonita Springs Utilities Inc. board of directors has elected its officers for the 2024-25 term. The board elected Richard Garner president, Brian Farrar vice president, Robert Bachman treasurer and James Murphy secretary.

    Garner is a retired banking executive and real estate professional. He has served as chairman of the Bonita Springs Chamber of Commerce, now SWFL Inc., and has held leadership positions with numerous local organizations.

    Farrar, who joined the board in 2016, is president/managing member of BCF Management Group, LLC and is currently serving as a commissioner on the Lee County Mosquito Control District and the Lee County Hyacinth Control District boards. Farrar is also vice chair of the CREW Land & Water Trust board of trustees.

    Bachman has served on the board since 2000. He is a member and past director of the Bonita Springs Area Chamber of Commerce and past member and director of the Bonita Springs Rotary. Bachman is a licensed real estate broker and general contractor.

    GARNER

    Murphy is CEO of a fuel brokerage company and is currently serving as vice chairman on the Bonita Springs Fire Control and Rescue District Board. He is a member of SWFL Inc. and is a graduate of Leadership Bonita.

    BSU members elect nine directors to the board to govern the utility. Other board members are Paul Attwood, Wayne Bauman, Lawrence Kosilla, Mike Malloy and Vincent Marchesani.

    Bonita Springs Utilities Inc. is a notfor profit water and wastewater utility cooperative founded by local citizens in 1970. The member-owned utility provides service in the City of Bonita Springs, the Village of Estero and unincorporated south Lee County. The utility is recognized as an industry leader with awards from the American Water Works Association, Florida Department of Environmental Protection and Florida Water Environment Association.
