And now shoppers can take advantage of Florida’s tax-free holiday, through August 11, at The Gardens Mall.

Consumer reports forecast that 74% of consumers will do their back-to-school shopping in-store and that 50% of parents plan to purchase something for themselves. During the state’s tax-free holiday, shoppers can stock up on back-to-school staples or spend on splurges.

No sales tax will be collected on the following items:

    • Clothing, footwear, and certain accessories selling for $100 or less, per item
    • Certain school supplies selling for $30 or less, per item
    • Personal computers and certain computer-related accessories with a sales price of $1,500 or less (when purchased for noncommercial home or personal use)

College students can take advantage of the tax-free holiday on Saturday, August 3 at The Gardens University. College students will receive four $10 vouchers to shop at select retailers.

Students must register online in advance of the event. After registering, bring the confirmation ticket and a college ID or an acceptance letter to The Gardens Mall. Students will pick up their vouchers at the Information Desk between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. For more information and to register for the event, visit thegardensmall.com/blog/the-gardens-university-back-to-school-event-2.
