A shocking statistic: bladder cancer makes up about 4% of cancers in the U.S., according to the American Cancer Society.

Jupiter Medical Center is now among the first in the region to administer a first-in-class gene therapy for bladder cancer.

ADSTILADRIN (nadofaragene firadenovec vncg) is the first and only FDA-approved gene therapy for non-muscle invasive bladder cancer.

“At Jupiter Medical Center’s Anderson Family Cancer Institute, we are witnessing the future of cancer care,” says Matthew Hartwig, Oncology Pharmacy Director. “This new therapy benefits patients who are unresponsive to standard treatments and provides hope for more targeted and effective interventions. We are offering our patients the best possible outcomes with fewer disruptions to their daily lives.”

The new therapy targets cancer cells more precisely by delivering gene therapy directly into the bladder, prompting the production of an immune-stimulating protein using the body’s natural immune response.

The technique minimizes side effects and reduces the need for treatments like chemotherapy.

“This treatment marks a significant advancement in the fight against bladder cancer,” says Amit Rastogi, President and CEO of Jupiter Medical Center.
