SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — A Florissant, Missouri man was sentenced in federal court for providing over 34 kilograms of fentanyl to drug traffickers in southwest Missouri.

According to a release from the U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Missouri, 50-year-old Sheron L. Loggins was sentenced 14 years in federal prison without parole.

Loggins pleaded guilty to participating in a conspiracy to distribute at least a kilogram of heroin and more than 400 grams of fentanyl. The release says Loggins admitted to providing fentanyl to a co-defendant, who supplied several other drug distributors in the Springfield area between September 2018 and November 2019. Court documents also state Loggins supplied more than 34 kilograms of fentanyl to the drug trafficking organization.

Law enforcement stopped Loggins as he was traveling to Springfield on I-44 to deliver fentanyl in 2019. Officers searching his vehicle found about 496 grams of fentanyl and a .45 caliber magazine loaded with five rounds of ammunition.

Loggins is the ninth of 15 defendants who have pleaded guilty to the conspiracy.
