Amber Spradlin still mourned a year after her murder; justice still sought
Though later in life than most, Amber Spradlin had just begun to really live life in the months leading up to her death on June 18, 2023. According to her second cousin and friend Debbie Hall, Amber had spent a significant portion of her adult life serving as a caregiver for her grandparents.

Guilty plea entered in 2021 fatal crash
A July sentencing date is scheduled for a Martin County man who pleaded guilty to charges stemming from a 2021 fatality in Prestonsburg. Jeffrey Stanley, 45, of Inez, was indicted in August 2023 on charges of murder, first-degree assault, DUI and a traffic offense in connection with a July 29, 2021, that killed Carolyn Rohr, 55, of East Point.
Man sentenced to 10 years in child pornography case
A man was sentenced to 10 years in prison June 6 in a Floyd County child pornography case. Floyd Circuit Judge Johnny Ray Harris sentenced B.J. Wood to 10 years on a charge of distribution of matter portraying a minor and five years on a charge of possessing or viewing matter portraying a minor in a sexual performance, with the sentences to run concurrently.

A Floyd County woman was arrested on several charges after Kentucky State Police reported they responded to a breaking and entering call at Hueysville. According to an arrest citation written by KSP Trooper Keithan Hamilton, on June 1, he was dispatched to the calla and was informed while en route that Ashley D. Hicks, 39, had attempted to break into a residence.
Report: Tourism in Floyd brought in $3.1M more in 2023

Little pleads guilty to amended charges in 2020 Floyd County murder case
One month after his plea deal was withdrawn, a former Pike County man pleaded guilty to amended charges in a 2020 Floyd County murder case. Enos Little, 50, who had twice rejected a plea deal offered by Commonwealth's Attorney Brent Turner, accepted the agreement June 6 in Floyd Circuit Court and entered guilty pleas to second-degree assault and facilitation to kidnapping in connection to the 2020 death of Wesley Hook, 30, of Pikeville.
