PPD: Wolfe County man fled from, endangered officer
A Wolfe County man was arrested on felony charges after he allegedly fled from and endangered a Prestonsburg Police Officer. According to an arrest citation, on May 20, Officer J.T. Layne was parked at the intersection of North Lake Drive and University Drive at approximately 12:30 a.m. when he saw a 1997 Chevrolet Cavalier drive by him.
ARH's Ashley Webb honored by Dream Appalachia

Morehead State University’s Craft Academy for Excellence in Science & Mathematics hosted its graduation ceremony for the Class of 2024 on May 11. The Academy recognized 54 students representing 30 counties across the Commonwealth of Kentucky at the ceremony. Spencer, Turner win nominations in primary
While there were few offices on the ballot in Floyd County, a small contingent of voters (just under 11 percent) turned out for the May 21 primary. In the Republican primary for the 95th Dist. state House seat, Brandon Spencer won overall, with 67 percent of the 1,445 votes cast and David Pennington taking 33 percent. In Floyd County, Spencer took 66 percent of the 1,086 votes cast and he took 69 percent of the 359 votes cast in Pike County.
