A 2024 Charles City High School graduate is this year’s Floyd County Fair Queen. Jada Litterer didn’t grow up on a farm, but has been involved in the fair for years. Winnebago Industries is closing its Charles City factory, idling 36 workers in the Floyd County community. Multiple attempted murder charges filed over gunfire in Charles City
CHARLES CITY, Iowa – A Mason City man has been charged with five counts of attempted murder in Floyd County. Evan Robert Stalker, 30, is accused of threatening to shoot up a home and vehicle on 220th Street in Charles City on Tuesday. The Floyd County Sheriff’s Office says after those alleged threats, deputies responded to a report of shots being fired at that home. Court documents indicate there were five people in the home when the gunfire occurred.
