To put it lightly, it has been a terrible start to the season for the Cleveland Browns. The team has just a single win while having one of the worst point differentials in the entire NFL (-42). On top of the poor record, the team has showcased little on the field to get excited about.

Luckily, a recent update about Nick Chubb, the team's best offensive player, does bring a bit of optimism to Cleveland.

Cleveland Browns Announce Nick Chubb's Return

Can the Cleveland Browns survive one more week? That is the question many Browns fans are asking following Nick Chubb's latest injury update. Unfortunately, the star running back is ruled out for this week against the Philadelphia Eagles. However, Chubb is expected to return for Week 7 in what is a must-win divisional matchup.

Chubb's Week 7 return would also be for an in-state rivalry game, with the Cleveland Browns taking on the Cincinnati Bengals. The game is in Cleveland. It marks the start of a three-game home stand that could help to turn the Browns' season around.

Certainly, the Browns are a better team with Nick Chubb back in the fold. For his career, Chubb has averaged 5.3 yards per carry. Prior to his devastating knee injury last season, Chubb was averaging 6.1 yards per carry and 85 rushing yards per game.

This season, the Browns are 26th in rushing yards per game (96.6) and 16th in yards per carry (4.4). With Nick Chubb in the backfield, the Browns should be more efficient running the ball, and they should be more committed to running it as well. Currently, they rank 31st in rushing play percentage (35.35%).

Deshaun Watson has been bad this season, but running the ball more effectively to get the offense in more "third and manageable" situations should help him and this entire team out immensely.

How excited are you for Nick Chubb's return? How do you think he will look after such a bad injury?
