Big Lots Shutting Down Stores Amid Financial Uncertainty
Big Lots is planning to shutter around 40 stores as the company opens up about their ability to continue. I've been shopping at Big Lots for as long as I can remember. As a kid, I could spend hours in the toy aisle, and even as a teenager, I spent quite a bit of time thumbing through the DVD and Blu-ray selections. My wife and I still shop at Big Lots on a regular basis today. It's safe to say that it's one of my all-time favorite stores. Need groceries? Done. Kitchenware? Easy. How about some furniture? They've got all kinds of options out on the floor.

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - An Evansville murder suspect has been arrested after a manhunt spanning several days. The man accused of murdering a 37-year-old earlier this week on E. Louisiana Street has been taken into custody. Shortly after midnight Saturday, Martin Keith Miniard, 54, was arrested and taken into custody.
On the Hill 5K set for September 21 at Saint Meinrad Archabbey
Saint Meinrad Archabbey, St. Meinrad, IN, will host an in-person and virtual On the Hill 5K walk/run on Saturday, September 21, 2024. Registration is now open for the event. Registration is $20 per person before September 1, and $25 after. Children ages 17 and under are $10 each before September 1, and $15 after. Four teams participate in joint practice at Central High School
EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - On Thursday evening at Central High School, four football teams got a chance to put their hard summer work to the test. The Central Bears hosted Bosse, Forest Park, and Washington for a joint practice. Teams competed in seven on seven drills as well as some full team sets. After many weeks of going against their own teammates, joint practices are an excellent opportunity to change up the pace of summer practices as the football season approaches.
