Arcadia council approves condo development, tree removal
The Arcadia City Council voted 3-2 on Thursday to move forward a large condominium development at 314-326 S. Second Ave., a few blocks south of Huntington Drive. The three-story, 33-foot complex housing 16 units on about 59,440 square feet received Planning Commission approval earlier this year. The complex’s 16 units will range from 2,305-3,207 square feet with four bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms.

Street vendors have reached a settlement agreement with the city of Los Angeles after a lawsuit was filed challenging vending restrictions, plaintiffs announced Friday.In December 2022, street vendors Merlín Alvarado and Ruth Monroy, along with three community organizations -- Community Power Collective, East LA Community Corporation and Inclusive Action for the City -- sued the city, challenging a number of regulations in the ordinance, which they claim violate SB 946, a 2018 state law that legalized sidewalk vending statewide.During a news conference in Hollywood on Friday, the plaintiffs and their attorneys said the settlement would repeal exclusionary vending bans across...
