This Hanging Spoon Means No More Messes or Sticky Fingers

Who knew a spoon could be so life-changing?

When I travel, I don't just visit the touristy spots — I dive into local markets and kitchen stores. You can learn so much about a culture by exploring what and how it eats. During a trip to Amsterdam last summer, I encountered an adorable store where there were all sorts of kitchen and home goods with a few items I'd never seen before. One of those items was a hanging spoon with an ingenious s-curve handle so it could easily sit on the edge of a condiment jar. It was a clever solution to messy handles when a spoon drops too deep into a whole jar.

It quickly became my go-to chili crisp spoon at home, but I needed more. Naturally, I turned to Amazon to find something that matched my travel find. Luckily, there were several versions of hanging spoons in all different shapes and sizes. I found this more extended version from KitchenCraft, which resembles the spoon I found in Amsterdam.

We're always using some sort of condiment, be it chopped Calabrian chilies , honey, or seasonal jams , so we always have one of these spoons in play. Since the spoon hangs on the side of the jar, the handle remains mess-free. A spoon often falls into a relatively full jar, getting the handle — and your fingers messy when you use it. This spoon solves that problem.

The smaller versions are perfect for coffee or tea and come in sets of four, but I prefer the longer ones, like this one from KitchenCraft . It's one of my favorite kitchen finds and a game-changer for anyone tired of sticky fingers.
