The Rapid Brewer is fully portable and requires no electricity so you can use it pretty much anywhere. Basically, you add ground coffee to a chamber, tamp it down (a tamper is included), and steep the grounds in water before plunging the brewed coffee into a cup. A stainless steel filter ensures that your finished brew is free of coffee grounds, while a “rainmaker showerhead” distributes the water evenly throughout the coffee, giving a thorough brew. But the Rapid Brewer isn’t simply “OXO’s AeroPress” — it’s actually added something new to the conversation.

Where the Rapid Brewer elevates the game is in its special attention to cold brew . The coffee chamber is specifically suited for both hot and cold concentrated coffee, with fill lines for each. Cold brew takes a bit longer to steep — five minutes, says OXO — and then after you plunge it, you dilute it with water or milk.
