As the slogan goes, nobody better lay a finger on my Butterfinger — especially if it's this brand-new flavor.

In October, Ferrero, which acquired Butterfinger six years ago, announced its plans to launch a limited-time flavor in April 2025. And that flavor is … drumroll please … Butterfinger Salted Caramel.

"The brand has an exciting innovation pipeline, and we look forward to sharing even more details on how we plan to take the classic American crispety, crunchety, peanut-buttery taste of Butterfinger to the next level with irresistible flavor combinations," Kalyn Flournoy, the senior brand manager at Butterfinger, shared in a statement provided to Food & Wine. "Now is the perfect time to put the full power of Ferrero’s craftsmanship and expertise to work with the reveal of the brand’s first innovation in decades."

The salted caramel flavor, the brand explained, enhances the original peanut-buttery taste while keeping that famed crunch in line. But, when it hits shelves, make sure to pick up a few, as they will only be available for a limited time.

As FoodDive reported, Ferrero acquired Butterfinger from Nestle, along with Baby Ruth, 100 Grand, Raisinets, Crunch, and other smaller candy brands for $2.8 billion. It began its revamp of Butterfinger by swapping in "higher-quality" ingredients, including a higher percentage of cocoa and milk in its chocolate, and changed its packaging slightly to more vibrant colors. But this marks its first large flavor addition.

“We’re at a point now where we feel like we have reset the foundation, and we are ready to take off and to continue to start expanding the brand,” Neal Finkler, Ferrero’s senior marketing leader and general manager, shared with FoodDive. “That’s why this, for us, is the right time to launch some innovation, bring in some new flavors to help complement our core business, and continue to drive growth on the brand.”

And while the plan is for it to be a limited release for now, it may choose to keep popular new flavors on the shelves forever. So if you love it, let them know.
