    Is it free?

Yes, but it's suggested that you bring a donation. While the event is free to attend, a $10 donation is requested at the gate. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Pilsen Arts & Community House, Frida Kahlo Community Group, and Opportunities For All.

    According to the event's website,

"The Tacos y Tamales Festival aims to give back to the community in which it is hosted; as a portion of the proceeds will benefit local community groups as well as preservation projects inhabiting Pilsen’s everyday lifestyle."

    What to expect:

    • A wide variety of authentic tamales and tacos from different regions of Latin America
    • Handmade tortillas
    • Vendor stalls selling
    • “Art Alley,” for unique local shopping and local art displays
    • Live music and DJs, from traditional mariachis to Latin pop rock
    • Dance performances

Will there be a beer garden?

Yes, the beer garden will feature beers by Modelo. Casa Azul Soda will also be on hand, offering samples of their refreshing tequila sodas, perfect for a hot day.

Who are some of the vendors that will be there?

According to the event's Instagram page, some of the Chicago vendors you can expect include:

    • La Cebollita Grill
    • El Campeon
    • Juanita's Mexican Food
    • Xurro Factory
