2-Ingredient Frozen Strawberry Lemonade: Beat the Heat!

    2024-06-22

What is more summery than an icy, sweet frozen drink? If the heat wave is getting to you, try whipping up this simple frozen strawberry lemonade.

All you need is your choice of lemonade and some frozen strawberries. You can use store-bought lemonade, make your own from scratch, or a powdered version. As for strawberries, frozen ones are the easiest choice. If you'd rather use fresh, add at least two cups of ice until you reach a nice, frozen consistency.

    Is frozen fruit healthy?

Frozen fruit is picked at the height of ripeness and quickly frozen. Because of the quick freezing methods, frozen fruit retains its nutritional value, making it a healthy choice. The benefit of buying frozen fruit is that you can keep it in the freezer for months at a time, without worrying about it going moldy. While frozen fruit's texture does change as it thaws, it's perfect for smoothies and frozen drinks.

    Optional Ideas

    • Add a splash of rum or vodka for a boozy, frozen lemonade.
    • Try it with other frozen fruits such as mixed berries, mangoes, or peaches.

The following recipe serves two to four people, depending on serving size:

    Ingredients

    • 2 cups frozen strawberries
    • 2 cups lemonade

    Method

    1. Add frozen strawberries and lemonade into a blender.
    2. Blend until smooth and frothy.
    3. Optional: garnish with fresh berries, lemon slices, or sprigs of mint if desired.
