Your Guide to Chicago's 2024 Pride Parade

    2024-06-26

This weekend marks the 53rd anniversary of Chicago's iconic Pride Parade. The parade is the conclusion of the month-long celebration for Chicago's LGBTQ+ community and is expected to bring in more than one million spectators.

Around 150 groups plan to march in the parade under the theme, Pride is Power, as it winds through Chicago's Northalsted, Uptown, Lakeview, and Lincoln Park neighborhoods.

Chicago's Pride Parade began in 1970 as a protest against the 1970 Stonewall Riots in New York City. By the 1980s, the peaceful protest had turned into more of a vibrant celebration with floats and rainbow flags. Today, it's a huge festival known as one of the top Pride celebrations in the country.

When Will Chicago's Pride Parade Take Place?

Sunday, June 30th at 11 AM

    What is the Route?

The parade kicks off at Sheridan and Broadway (3900 N. Broadway) where it will head south. The end is near the intersection of Diversey Parkway and Sheridan Road in Lincoln Park.

    How to Get There?

With the crowd descending upon Chicago, public transportation will be your best bet. Take the CTA Red Line 'L' train and stop anywhere between Belmont and Sheridan. Or on the CTA Brown Line 'L' train you can get off at the Diversey or Wellington stops.
