TikTok’s Icy Twist on Whipped Coffee: The Frozen Coffee Craze

You may have made whipped coffee, but the latest TikTok viral coffee trend is freezing whipped coffee.

Whipped coffee was the viral trend of 2020. The latest TikTok take on this trend is to whip up a week's worth of coffee and then freeze. What you are left with is whipped coffee with an almost ice cream-like consistency.

Scoop some of it into a glass of cold milk with ice, and you've got a tasty glass of iced coffee each morning.

You can make a week's worth of coffee ahead of time to make your mornings easier.

When Did Whipped Coffee Get Its Start?

Note that whipped coffee doesn't actually originate from TikTok but has been around for many years and is also called Dalgona Coffee. It can be traced back as far as the 1950s in Greece.

Ingredients

• 1 cup instant coffee
• 1 cup sugar
• 1 cup boiling water

Directions

1. Whip together the instant coffee, sugar, and hot water for about 4 to 6 minutes until it has soft peaks.

2. Place it in a bowl and freeze overnight.

3. Add a scoop to a glass of milk and ice.

4. Enjoy a perfectly made cup of iced coffee!
