How to Make the Ultimate Mexican-Style Refreshing Strawberry Drink

Agua Fresca de Fresa Cremosita, also known as Agua de Fresa Con Leche, is a refreshing and sweet strawberry milk made with very few ingredients. I came across this creamy and delicious drink while watching food YouTuber, @LoveKariCooking.

Agua Frescas can be traced back to the Aztecs who made sweet drinks using fruits and flowers. Agua Fresca translates directly to "fresh water."

There are many flavors of agua frescas, including watermelon, mango, honeydew, lemon, and lime. Today we are making a creamy, fresh strawberry aqua fresca.

    Ingredients

    • 2 pounds strawberries (if you use frozen strawberries, let thaw a little first)
    • 4 cups water
    • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
    • 1 (12-ounce) can of evaporated milk
    • 1 (14-ounce) can of sweetened condensed milk

    Directions

    1. Wash the strawberries and cut off the stems.

    2. Place the strawberries in a blender with vanilla and water. Blend until smooth.

    3. In a pitcher add the cans of evaporated and condensed milk.

    4. Pour the strawberry mixture into the pitcher and stir well.

    5. Serve in a glass with ice. Garnish with strawberries if desired.

    Notes

    • If using fresh strawberries, try to find the reddest strawberries to have the best flavor.
    • This keeps for a couple of days in an airtight container in the refrigerator. You will need to stir before serving.
