Layoffs Strike Maryland as One More Company Feels the Impact

The layoffs persist in Maryland as another business announced layoffs this week due to plant closures.

According to the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act, companies employing over 100 full-time workers are obligated to give a 60-day notice prior to laying off 50 or more individuals at a single site. One business submitted WARN notices this week.

Reimagined Parking advises that Reimagined Parking will layoff 33 employees in 6 Baltimore locations on May 18, 2024, as indicated in a Maryland WARN notice.

On March 19, 2024, Reimagined Parking, located at 100 International Drive in Baltimore, Maryland, issued a layoff notice affecting 3 employees. Additionally, they issued layoff notices for 9 employees at 650 Exeter Street (Parking Garage), 14 employees at 650 Exeter Street (Hilton Valet Parking), 2 employees at 600 S. Eden Street, 1 employee at 711 S. Central Avenue, and 4 employees at 1530 Thames Street, all in Baltimore City. These layoffs are due to a plant closure and are effective on May 18, 2024.

Last week, Charles River Laboratories filed a layoff notice in Maryland, laying off 14 staff in Frederick.

So far, 24 layoff notices have been lodged in Maryland in 2024.
