The Daily Record Announces 2024 Influential Marylanders

    2024-07-12

The Daily Record has officially announced the honorees for its 2024 Influential Marylanders awards, recognizing individuals who have made significant impacts within the state. The award highlights leaders across various sectors, including civic leadership, communications, education, finance, freestyle, general business, health care, law, philanthropy, real estate, and technology.

Chosen by The Daily Record's editors, this year's honorees were selected for their exceptional contributions and leadership in their respective fields. Notably, elected officials were excluded from eligibility, as their roles inherently confer influence.

This year, five distinguished individuals will join the Circle of Influence, marking their third and final recognition as Influential Marylanders. The 2024 inductees include:

    • Scott Dorsey, Merritt Companies
    • J. Kirby Fowler, The Maryland Zoo
    • Terrance Hasseltine, Maryland Sports Commission
    • Sandra Kurtinitis, Community College of Baltimore County
    • Leslie Simmons, Lifebridge Health
Suzanne Fischer-Huettner, managing director of The Daily Record, praised the honorees: “The 2024 Influential Marylanders are, quite simply, inspirational. Their hard work and dedication to their fields have changed the landscape of Maryland through their extraordinary efforts. They make a difference in communities throughout the state every day. The Daily Record congratulates this year’s honorees.”

The honorees will be celebrated on September 18 at The Grand Lodge in Cockeysville. Given the event's popularity, attendance is limited, and tickets are expected to sell out.
