Urbana PD asks for help from the public to find shooter
URBANA, Ill. (WAND) — Champaign County Crime Stoppers has asked for help from the public after a shooting killed one man, and injured another. On Aug. 17, Urbana Police found two men who had been shot in the 1500 block of Hunter Street around 1:30 a.m. One man had a graze on his hand, but 32-year-old William Booker was shot in the leg and torso. He was taken to the hospital, but died from his injuries.
Juvenile, one other in custody after high-speed chase
Two individuals are behind bars after being involved in a high-speed chase reaching speeds of up to 100 miles per hour, according to Clay County Sheriff Ronnie Cole. The incident occurred at 5:10 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 25 when a deputy observed a black Dodge Charger traveling at a high rate of speed at the intersection of County Road 131 and Highway 67, just east of Pocahontas in Randolph County.
