Nike Sportswear will reissue a fan-favorite sneaker this holiday season with a few modifications.

Originally released in 2006, the footwear brand’s Air Force 1 Low collaboration with legendary New York graffiti artist and graphic designer Stash is returning in 2024. The retro collab had been rumored to return since July of this year, and now in-hand images of an updated take on the style confirm its comeback.

Despite a number of material changes, the overall color palette remains similar to the ’06 original , making use of the artist’s signature blue shades across the classic silhouette’s upper. With an official colorway of “Soft Gray/Varsity Royal/Harbor Blue,” the ’24 iteration is a near match to the original’s “Harbor Blue/Sport Royal/Soft Gray” makeup.

From a glance, the two shoes line up closely with identical color blocking. But rather than dazzle nylon-like material on the nylon toe box and quarter panel of the first version, the new pair features a ripstop material, perhaps enhancing durability in the shoe’s high-wear areas.

It also includes a fused tip on the toe reminiscent of the Tom Sachs x Nike General Purpose Shoe , which adds further abrasion resistance. The Soft Gray suede paneling is kept close to the original look, but the shoe’s leather-wrapped navy blue midsole has been replaced with a more traditional rubber. On the tongue of the ’24 Stash x Air Force 1 Low, the artist’s signature is used instead of the usual Air Force 1 tag.

Stash and Nike have a long-running, on-again, off-again relationship. In the early 2000s, the two helped set the standard for sneaker collaboration culture with limited-edition releases such as the aforementioned Air Force 1 Low, the “One Night Only” Air Force 1 High from 2002, 2003’s Air Max BW, and 2006’s Air Max 95. The drops tapered off in the 2010s, picking back up again with 2017’s Air Zoom Spiridon and Air Force 1 High “AF100.”

Now, it’s clear the partnership will resume, and not only with this updated Air Force 1 Low. The artist’s coveted Air Max 95 from ’06 is also rumored for an updated return in the near future — something Stash said in March he could “not confirm nor deny.” More updates on that pair are expected soon.

As of now, this revamped Stash x Nike Air Force 1 Low is on track for a holiday ’24 release with a SKU of HF5516-001 and a retail price of $160. This story will be updated with any changes. Readers can watch an unboxing of the collaboration below.
