NBA star De’Aaron Fox was announced in October 2023 as the first signature athlete of Curry Brand. Roughly a year later, the first details of his shoe have been revealed.

At a media event on Tuesday in New York City, Curry Brand and Under Armour senior designer Ed Wallace shared insights into what the Sacramento Kings guard wanted in his signature shoe . Wallace said Fox asked for a “low-top, runner-esque” shoe “with a strap.”

Although there was a stand for Fox’s shoe with a cloth draped over it at the event, Curry Brand did not offer a look at the hooper’s upcoming signature shoe, dubbed the Curry Fox 1.

Four-time NBA champion Stephen Curry also spoke at the event about Fox and his first signature shoe, and offered advice to the first signature athlete of his namesake brand.

“Be involved in the process. Take chances, ask questions [and] invest in that process because it will get back to you and you’ll continue to raise the bar as you go through,” Curry said.

He continued, “You want a shoe that embodies who you are, checks the boxes of what’s going to allow you to perform at the highest level out there, and as your star continues to rise don’t forget where you came from and don’t forget how it started.”

In November 2020, Under Armour — the athletic giant that has sponsored Curry since 2013 — announced the launch of his Curry Brand imprint .
